This shop sells two different things, and it is worth saying which is which. There is supplier stock — supplements, training equipment, apparel — that we buy ready-made and resell. And there are eleven documents written here: eight books and three tiers of plans, in Spanish, English and French. This page is about the second kind, because those are the ones that call for an explanation.
Where the figures come from
From public bodies, and they can be checked one by one.
The nutrition tables, the macronutrient ranges, the dose of physical activity, the manual handling criteria and the sleep recommendations come from agencies of the United States Government — NIH, CDC, FDA, health.gov, NIOSH — and from public physical-training doctrine. Those works are not subject to copyright under 17 U.S.C. § 105. That covers the figures; the writing, the structure, the tables, the checks and every drawing are our own work.
The esoteric books — zodiac, arcana, ritual, inner observation — rest on something else: common tradition and the public domain. The sequence of the arcana, the classical correspondences and the exercises of self-examination have been transmitted in writing for centuries and belong to nobody. They are two different legal bases and we do not mix them, because they are not the same thing.
The books are not written by hand twice
The text lives once, as data. The layout exists once. The translations are data too: every sentence is indexed by a fingerprint of its Spanish original, and when the Spanish changes, the fingerprint changes and the sentence goes back into the translation queue. That way the English edition cannot say something the Spanish one has already corrected.
The PDF is typeset on its own from that data. Nobody touches up a PDF by hand: what gets corrected is corrected at the source and typeset again.
Four checks that stop publication
This is the part we are happiest with, and the part you see least. The program that builds the books refuses to write the PDF in four cases:
- If the translation is not one hundred per cent complete. A half-translated book does not ship; we would rather it did not exist.
- If a translated label does not fit its slot in a drawing. It used to break the plate silently.
- If the prose promises seven plates and only six are drawn. This did happen, in three languages at once, which is why the check exists.
- If a table does not match the source it comes from.
None of the four is switched off to get something out of the door.
What you will not find here
- Health promises. Not in the books and not in the supplement listings. We say what a product contains, how much and in what format — not what it cures.
- Figures without a source. If a quantity is not in the manufacturer's documentation or in a public source, it is not published. When a supplier's own sheet contradicts itself, the figure is left out.
- Diagnoses or treatments. Nothing we sell replaces a doctor, a registered dietitian or a licensed psychologist.
- Predictions. Astrology and tarot are treated here as symbolic language, which is what they are. They do not announce future events.
What you get when you buy a document
A PDF with the three editions — Spanish, English and French — with navigation bookmarks and its glossary at the end. The books carry plates drawn for the edition, not stock images. The plans come with a screen version and a version prepared for printing.
If something does not add up — a figure that does not match its source, a page that will not open — write to us from Contact and it gets corrected at the source, which is where things are really fixed.
